Trubar in the classroom

Teaching programmes about Primož Trubar for pupils from age nine upwards: with a video, an interactive game and conversation, pupils learn about Trubar’s life and work in a fun way. The programmes are held in Slovene.

In Trubar’s footsteps

Experience Trubar’s time in the streets where he lived in Germany. Slovene guides who know Trubar well take you to the places where he lived and worked, with short talks, conversations, walks and free time along the way.

The heart, personality and legacy of Primož Trubar

In the first part experts give an in-depth look at Trubar’s work and legacy. The second part is practical: participants get to know and try out teaching materials for primary and secondary schools and learn to use them on their own.

Trubar’s teaching methods

In the 16th century only about 3 per cent of Slovenes could read. How did Trubar teach them? The lecture shows his approach using the first Slovene book and links it to teaching today.

In a fun programme pupils meet the hero Primož Trubar for the first time. They learn about his time and the difficulties he faced when he wrote down the Slovene literary language.

A charming film about the life and importance of Primož Trubar for pupils. It is also shown at the Slovenian School Museum in Ljubljana.
