In 1584 Jurij Dalmatin, Trubar’s co-worker, published the first complete Slovene translation of the Bible. It fulfilled Trubar’s wish that Slovenes would read God’s word in their own language.
In 2017 the Trubar Forum published the New Testament from Dalmatin’s Bible in an updated text. Vinko Ošlak and Benjamin Hlastan brought it into Slovene that is easy to understand today and wrote the introduction. The book has 355 pages.
The printed edition of 50,000 copies is for free distribution, thanks to a gift from Eastern European Mission. Here you can download it free as a PDF (in Slovene).
